i heard today that you calnnot keep a field point on your persons while hunting for the purpase of shooting your crossbow into the ground you must have a blunt point or jato point . anyone have any info on this?

Dave...I don't know where you heard that...but the instructional material states:

At the end of the day to safely unload your crossbow it must be shot. In New Jersey you can carry one arrow with a point different than a broadhead used to unload your crossbow.


It is ambiguous, but they may start insisting you carry a judo point or a blunt point.....

reliable source, for sure....well...if that's the case...then they need to update the course material and next year's digest...and be more specific....otherwise....wardens are gonna be able to write a truckload of tickets....

Yea thats for sure bob and they will. I hope he is wrong. only because it wasnt written anywhere that i found. I have no problem with it using a blunt point .

As far as I found out today its going by archery season rules which states you cannot have a fieldpoint on your persons while DEER hunting. I hope they clarify this because a awfull lot of tickets will be issued

then the State has some updating to do in it's training materials....I was gonna start carrying a blunt tip anyway....buried a couple of my arrows with the field points on....had to dig them up
